The White Desert paced for children: two stops on the drive out so nobody gets restless, camp set up early so the kids can explore the chalk, and a fire before dark. If you are lucky, fennec foxes visit after dinner.

Cairo → Bahariya → White Desert campPick-up at 07:00, a shaded stop every 90 minutes, lunch in Bawiti. Camp is set up by 16:00 so there’s time to climb the chalk before dinner.
